Vintage Butterick & Walker’s Embroidery Patterns
A follow up to the post on my Grandmas White Zig Zag Sewing Machine, here are a few of her embroidery patterns. I’m not sure when these were published, but I think the illustrations and designs are so sweet.
I just love finding old packing. I’m so intrigued by the layout, type, illustrations, text… all of it. I mean tell me that Newmarket Furniture & Electric ad doesn’t make you smile. If I haven’t said it before, I think product packaging and advertisements are the most fascinating reflections of a time period. It’s through finding things like this that I’m able to understand the kind of society my Grandma lived it. It helps me get to know her and it puts her work in context.
