In Store Inspiration #2

1. I like the simple print on this black and white Zara shirt. I would be easy to do something similar by silkscreening or even hand painting onto fabric. (Zara)

2. Digital printing is pretty awesome for fashion designers and home sewers alike. Club Ink in Toronto will print your designs on fabric with no minimums, so you can design fabric for your own clothes! (The Room at The Bay)

3. I saw this little foot rest/stool in Urban Barn which would be very easy to knit yourself. You could also take a cheap square Ikea footrest and knit an interesting cover for it. (Urban Barn)

4. I like the idea of embroidering fabric to enhance the pattern and add texture. Something fun to play around with in fashion and home fabrics. (Mulberry)

5/6. It’s a bit hard to see (click the picture for the website), but there are tiered layers of silk on the side of this shirt that give an otherwise classic top an interesting cut and movement. I think the focus on detail from the side, as apposed to the back or front of the garment, is pleasantly unexpected. (Club Monaco)
