My Nana’s High School Autograph Books, 1936-1937
Did you have these? I remember getting them in primary school. We’d all practice signatures at our desks before rushing around in a frenzy, making our friends write us a message. It was probably the first time we’d distinguished between writing and signing our names, and let me tell you that was exciting!
Our hand writing however looked nowhere near as polished as this.
I must have spent over an hour sitting on my living room floor combing through these. Such a dear collection of memories and window into her teenage life. She passed away when I was a toddler so it’s through things like this I’m able to get to know her and have some of my, “What was it like?!” questions answered.
