In Store Inspiration #3

Artizia   Versace

1. Darts to shape the sleeve and add interest to an otherwise predictable silhouette. (Babaton, Artizia)
2. Vertical welts on this jacket are an interesting detail and slimming. (Escada)

CM1  CM4

3. I’m a sucker for a simple blazer – no collar, no lapels, no buttons, simple simple. Also, I’d think easier to draft/sew! (Club Monaco)
4. The open back is an interesting touch, and again I would think easy to draft as there are no darts. I tried this blazer on and the only thing I didn’t like about this design is that it’s not fitted and I’m not sure I like how it hangs in this material. (Club Monaco)

CM5   Holt3

5. One more shot of the inside of this Club Monaco blazer, in case you want to see what the pattern pieces would look like. (Club Monaco)
6. French seams on the outside of this garment look sleek. (The Kooples, Holt Renfrew)

TedBaker   Holt1

 7. Love the pleating of this Ted Baker dress. I wish I could have gotten a better picture but it was a dark store with hovering sales staff. I’m not sure how this pattern is achieved, but I think it’s a very cool idea. (Ted Baker)
8. I like how the weave of this cloth is less dense in some areas than others, almost mimicking criss-crossed bands you’d see in a tartan. I think the effect is really beautiful. (Eskandar, Holt Renfrew)
